SOCIAL TOOL : Tweetdeck , Improves Twitter Experience !

Twitter can be a confusing mess. Once you've started following 10 or more people,it becomes really difficult to keep up with all the updates.. the further you scale up the less practical it becomes it becomes to read every single post, and then of course important information might slip past undetected.Even worse, some people post updates constantly and searches for real-time news, which twitter excels at update far too quickely to be read . Twitter allows users to create list in order to filter users, but the website interface is clunky at best.

The solution lies in separating Twitter as as service from its own website. If it wasn't for mobile phone clients,we'd never have the kind of real time updates and photo sharing that we do today. Similarly, dozens of third party clients exist for the desktop, which improve upon the default experience in some way.

Tweetdeck's genius feature is the organization of Twitter lists columns that are displayed simultaneously and can be read at a glance. You can also quickly create and edit lists, allowing you to weed out people who spam your timeline and cultivates those whose posts are genuinely useful . Search results are displayed in their own columns, which can easily be left visible or knocked off when they aren't useful anymore. Most importantly you can immediately see when you have new mentions and direct messages, which are easy to miss on the Actual Twitter page.

Tweetdeck have completely changed the way of using Twitter.More than twitter itself , Tweetdeck have Improved the way Twitter works.

Facebook makes Major changes,Introduces Timeline : Mark Zuckerberg

As we predicted, Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote at the f8 conference in San Francisco Thursday introduced some of the most profound changes seen on Facebook since its inception. So many changes, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track. So here’s a handy-dandy guide.

At the F8 developer conference in San Francisco, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduces a revamped profile page called Timeline, which gives users more control and a chance to look back on everything they've ever published on the social network.

The new Timeline is the answer to the problem of filling in the context of someone’s entire life. It is a moving mosaic of the photos, videos, places and status updates that make up not just your Facebook profile, but in a way, your personality. Facebook wants to chronicle your life, and now you can see the scrapbook.

Facebook today announced the Timeline (currently in beta), which lets you highlight all the important updates of your life on one page. It’s not out yet, but when it does finally roll out in a few weeks, it will completely replace your current Facebook profile.

The official way to get the new feature is to go to facebook.com/about/timeline and click on the green Sign Me Up button. You won’t get it right away, but you will presumably be put on a list of people who will get it sooner rather than later.

Bank of Melbourne Twitter account hacked

The Twitter account of Bank of Melbourne was compromised last Wednesday, and was used to spread phishing links as direct messages to the account followers, according to reports coming in from affected users.

Followers of the bank's Twitter page were sent direct messages encouraging them to click on a link designed to fraudulently acquire their Twitter user name and password.

BusinessDay understands that the messages were sent to only a small proportion of its nearly 800 Twitter followers, but the exact number was unknown.

At around 6.30pm yesterday Bank of Melbourne tweeted “ATTN: Unauthorised DMs sent bw 4-5pm today, do not click link. No customer/personal data compromised. Apologies for the inconvenience. ^TT”, in response to several complaints from its followers.

After apologising to customers, the bank assured them: 'Thanks for all your support. We take security very seriously & will be strengthening our policies to further protect our social channels

The Westpac-owned Melbourne bank said no customer accounts were compromised.

Chrome Turn THREE ! Happy Birthday Chrome

Google launched its Chrome Web browser on September 1, 2008 —three years ago. Google has a lot more to celebrate than a birthday, however.

It’s also been a big year for the Chrome ecosystem, with the launch of the Chrome webstore in December and Chrome books in June. Neither of these has taken off yet, but Google is laying the groundwork for Chrome to become a robust, entirely web-based alternative to traditional operating systems like Windows.

The launch of offline Gmail, Calendar and Docs yesterday best underscores the status of these efforts: they’re still early and rough around the edges (offline Gmail doesn’t even support keyboard shortcuts yet), but you can see the potential. Chome’s future success as an OS is hardly a given, but Google is putting a lot of weight behind it.

Despite the limitations, Chrome's audience has grown explosively since its 2008 launch. According to statistics from Stat Counter, the browser's market share hit 10 percent last year and continued growing to 23 percent, as of this month. It's become an important part of Google's product landscape, serving as the central pillar of the company's ambitious Chrome OS operating system.
