Dark Night Rises Review

The Dark Knight Rises is the third and much anticipated and final Batman film. The trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan, The follow up to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. In a summer filled with super heroes this is not only Nola’s signature fin but DC’s comic’s response to an up to now Marvel filled summer. Though no film could have been par to its, The Dark Knight certainly did not fail to meet the hype. The Dark Knight Rises like its flawed protagonist was never expected to be meet demands of audiences set by its predecessor.
The storyline is set eight years post Bruce Wayne’s (Christian Bale) self sacrificing induced retirement, and now a broken man haunted by the ghosts of yesterday.Christian embraces once again his conflicted hero role, appearing aged, withered physically and mentally. A familiar tone sets in as an opportunity “rises” Gotham falls in crisis. The city grasped by the clutches of a new protagonist, Bane and his band of anti-heroes. Bane (Tom Hardy), not the masterful psychological and unforgettable performance left to us by (Heath Ledger) but a most formidable adversary with screen presence and sheer brute strength.

The film mixes it up with new main characters played by an impressive star studded cast. Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle [essential Catwoman though never directly] and continually rising Joseph Gordon-Levitt as rookie policeman John Blake. Both actors bring something new to the table. Hathaway attributes feline qualities she is sassy, bold and feline like but yet expresses a vulnerability of emotional instability that adds substance. The rest of the returning cast (Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman,) do not fail to deliver,

At 2 hours 44 seconds, the film manages to keep the general public engaged with magnificent aerial views and a beautiful representation of the fictional city. A flurry of bat mobiles, action packed scenes and glamorous shots. There is a sense of citizenship of the city and empathy for flawed characters through and through. As for the fanatics there are hinted surprises and enough tangles to keep them gasping and pondering for more. Nolan leaves with his representation of Batman’s trilogy that has absolutely become cultural phenomenon and embedded in audience’s

Handwrite New way to search on Google

Google wants to make it as easy as possible for you to use its search engine.Google Handwrite is here: the search engine's mobile pages will now let you draw letters on the page to conduct searches with the writing method you learned before this whole computer fad took hold. There's no special plugin required it's just the flick of a settings switch.

"Say you’re standing on a busy street corner, in a bumpy taxi ride, talking with a friend, or sitting on the couch with your tablet," the company said in a blog post Thursday. "Handwrite enables you to search by just writing letters with your finger most anywhere on your device’s screen—there’s no keyboard that covers half of the screen and no need for hunt-and-peck typing."

Check out the demo video of the Handwrite feature for web search:

Handwrite only works on Google's mobile site when using Android phones running Android 2.3 or later, Android tablets running Android 4.0 or later, and Apple devices running iOS 5. To turn it on you have to go to www.google.com on your phone or tablet, go to "Settings" at the bottom of the page, and enable it.

Highway : Transitioning away from lighter commercial fare

The new movie Highway explores the stories of several passengers traveling through Nepal, who end up telling them once their bus gets stranded due to striking workers and mechanical problems. Although the film was really about current Nepali culture, it has the look and feel of the Western independent movie like Crash, or Love Actually, where a complex of character studies are artistically integrated into a single narrative with a strong theme. Yet like those movies, Highway also sports a top-notch cast to support its experimental story and setting.

Nepali movies like this appear to be transitioning away from lighter commercial fare, which is particularly been centered around romance comedies or spicy action, into more complex attempts to address social and economic challenges impacting the working-class of the country. Highway tries to be a realistic presentation, with the characters providing multiple layers or shades to its depiction of Nepal's current urban situation. Whether it succeeds in this attempt can be disputed, because much of the movie relies on cinematography showing the region's landscapes or frankly odd shots, that does not clearly mesh with the storyline presented by the characters.

While the back stories of the passengers are presented in some detail, the motivations or the continuity behind their actions scenes are frequently lacking, which limits the ability to feel empathy for them. Some viewers have even regarded the abundance of characters and subplots as confusing, or unclear as to how they relate to adding to the whole movie. While the directing (by Deepak Rauniyar, who has previously excelled in shorter movies) is very sound, the script could have been better organized to clarify the story and to create more interest throughout. And the dubbed version of the film is deficient in many ways.

The standout performances by Binay Shrestha, Reecha Sharma, and Asha Magarati in relating their histories are one of the key strengths of the movie. Explaining the pain an illegal strike may cause to a struggling people is also well handled dramatically. Different aspects of how this affects people, from a bar girl worried about her daughter, to someone having an extramarital affair, to a US returnee are explored in rich detail. Some performers like Dayahang Rai, or Karma did not get to embellish their characters sufficiently, as the role was too short (or perhaps, shortened during editing) to help in filling out the composite effect intended for the characters in the movie.

Overall, Highway gives off the impression of being an art movie, which limits its potential appeal in the already relatively thin movie market that is Nepal. If the disparate stories of the different passengers portrayed was intended to be an attempt to realistically show the range of different people who can be connected by chance and circumstance, the effect is imperfectly realized. Native viewers in Nepal should appreciate the honest approach to dramatizing their country, but may not work the movie because it is just not entertaining in the sense they are used to. This could have been remedied with a tighter script and a smaller cast to clarify the story.

Nokia Dominates with 41 megapixel camera 808 PureView

Anyone promoting 41 megapixel technology for the consumer market is going to get some attention, and Nokia has achieved just that and more with its 808 PureView camera-phone. Such specs lead to some awesome imaging capabilities. Specifically, the huge amount of information leads to 'oversampling' of the visual details to the point where sharp, noiseless pictures are no longer just possible, but the normal output when shots are taken. Many have compared its super sharpness with current rivals like the HTC One S or iPhone 4S, and found the 808 PureView a clear winner.
Among additional core specs that make the 808 PureView distinctive are an f/2.4 Carl Zeiss lens and a focal length of 8.02mm. The unit can capture images at both 34 and 38 megapixels, which gives it the flexibility to deliver high definition at both th 4:3 and 16:9 ratio. For those with lesser needs, the model does pictures at a humble 5 megapixels as well. No one can touch the camera for the noiseless detail this amount of pixels can bring to pictures. What the camera lacks by way of a HDR mode for its camera, it makes up with a rapid-fire ability to take 5 shots at different exposures.
The advantages of such a powerful camera are numerous if you have serious shooting in mind. Too many consumers are settling nowadays for a smartphone that has a powerful camera as an add-on built-in extra on a label like Apple or HTC model, instead of looking further. The Nokia 808 PureView puts the camera more as a main feature, and not an afterthought. It is actually faster in operation and easier to access than an iPhone or Android-based handhelds. It's also able to perform a one-touch zoom on 5 megapixel picture-making, with just a flick of the finger as it swipes across the display, much like the touch screen features of the rival devices.

But some flaws in the total package may create pause in picking up the Nokia, first of which is the suggested price tag. $599-$699 for the 80 PureView maybe way too much for even a discriminating buyer of hi-tech communication products. If it causes a lag in sales, it relates to a sadder possibility---It may be the unit is Nokia's swan song, or final attempt to re-establish a foot hold in the mobile wars, which the brand once dominated. In that case there is a question as to how much support will remain available for the model in the long run.

More positively, the Nokia 808 PureView could well revive the domination of the label in the market, as it represents a quantum leap in what can be packed into consumer camera phone technology. A few additional touches, such as extra external memory capacity to handle the data from the data-rich photos, will give the unit much more practical usability. As it stands the post-processing and editing that can be done on the large photos produced by the PureView will far exceed those produced on other models (as there's so much data to work from, per each photo). The state of the art nature of the camera features makes Nokia worth the purchase, and hard to beat in this area for years to come.

Compare-Microsoft-Surface-and-Apple-IPad

Still ogling at the slate like object your colleague just sneaked out of his case wallet and hoping he surfaces it again so that you can have a better view. Dreaming all night for your next “tablet” and flipping over every possible Internet resource to get a suitable answer that doesn’t only bring smile on your face but also your pocket. Well, here is some news that you can use!!

Microsoft is back in the tablet rally once again. On June, 18th the company raised the curtain from Surface and Microsoft says it’s a result of imagination for re-imagining the tablet. By Surfacing “Surface” Microsoft has gone head –on with its arch rivals, the Apple IPad. This Clash of Titans was much anticipated and the entire technocrats’ world has their eyes set on It.

So lets do a head to head comparison of the two and learn about some of the salient features of both the slate miracles world has named “Tablets”. It will be really interesting to see how this Windows baby takes on the Game Changer Apple IPad.

For Beginners, both Surface and IPad are fairly large machines however the Surface is just inches ahead of the IPad. The Surface is a 10.6 inches with full HD support (as per Microsoft Press release) whereas the IPad’s screen size is 9.7 inches (resolution 2048X1536 pixels). That win for Surface doesn’t sustain when it comes to weighing the machines. Both the Surface models weigh more than the IPad. The RT version weighs 1.49 lbs. while its sibling weighs 1.99 lbs. whereas, the IPad a mere 1.44 lbs. is featherweight in this aspect.

Coming to more in depth analysis and tech facts here is a comparison that shows how the new Microsoft Surface stands up against the iPad 3.

Hardware

The Microsoft Surface boldly features “VapoMg”, the molded magnesium casing that shelters Surface’s components. What is really unique and sets it apart from the iPad is the magnetic strip to attach really handy accessories such as the “Touch Cover” and “Type Cover” . It’s strongly believed that this will be an added perk for the business users who would want the flexibility of touch and type rather than just “tap to type” as is presently available in an iPad. Touch cover and Type Cover will be offered by Microsoft at no extra price (as per Microsoft press release). Both, when filed up act as protective covers that gets attached to the Surface via the magnetic strip.

When flipped they act as keyboards. Smart!!Isn’t it? The touch cover is enabled with a touch sensitive keyboard and is about 3 mm whereas the Type cover is slightly fatter with a tactile keyboard. What is interesting to note here is the Surface is an exclusive “In House” Microsoft product packed with full featured soft wares as well as the hardware which is manufactured solely by Microsoft. This basically means that at this moment Microsoft is not just a competitor to Apple but also a rival to longtime Personal Computer manufacturing partners as Hewlett -Packard, Dell and Acer. The world is quite eagerly waiting for the pricing of the Surface after covering the production and manufacturing costs. This will be also determining where the product stands in the market.

Software

Microsoft has done a phenomenal job by integrating the Office suite i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the Surface. Possibly the most basic and frequently used application on earth will be available as a bundle software along with the Surface at no extra cost. Whereas the Apple supplement for Office suite, iWork is not available as part of the application bundle offered by Apple with an iPad, the user needs to purchase a copy from the apps store.

The Final Verdict

It’s really a stiff task to comment which one is best among both of these slate wonders. As the Apple iPad has been entertaining the world for more than two years now and has literally taken the world by a storm. It’s by far the largest selling tablet among all of its competitors. With introduction of the Surface Microsoft is trying to create an “ecosystem” around Windows 8 and at the same time challenging the iPad with a wealth of diverse and unique features under its belt.

Microsoft is definitely aware that today iPad is the most popular device because of the plethora of apps embedded and available for it. By numbers it is close to 225,000! So Microsoft needs to find out avenues to develop apps for this new platform with the help of third party developers.

At the same time unlike most other tablets in the market, Surface will be able to run almost any program that the users run on their home or office computers, thus it will be likely more attractive to business users of-course along with the home users.

To conclude, it’s still too early to judge which of the two is better. But if you want to taste a different flavor then Surface might just be the answer!
