Last week i posted Volume one of the " Steve Job i hate you" here is the second version "

Steve Jobs, Steve Jobs, Steve Jobs. After a ton of adulation and deification following his death in 2011, the allocades showered on this egocentric maniac for founding and promoting Apple products just never dies down. But there is a cottage industry of haters who know the real score, and I'm one of them. The truth is, Jobs was a stingy computer giant who treated his employees horribly, provided poor customer service for his products for decades, and nearly destroyed the computer industry in its crib when his obsession with proprietary control. And that's just for starters.

Let's back up and talk about his treatment of customers and staff. Steve Jobs was known to be a backstabber with employees. He often took their best ideas and dismissed them, only to quietly introduced them as his own short while later. He deeply underpaid or overworked many of the workers in the US, and got many of the hardware parts of his projects developed in China, a.k.a. under slave labor conditions. For years Apple was known to maintain sparse or nonexistent customer service, because Steve wouldn't shell out extra dough needed to pay for a more responsive team of representatives.

That ties into the legendary stinginess of the man. Both in his business practice and personally, Jobs held on to his money like a black hole, giving almost nothing to charity throughout his life. This is most peculiar considering his products were over priced (and still are), and even had billions to share among his friends and company visionaries, that he didn't. Everything had to flow one way, towards Jobs, vainly feeding his cult of himself. Everything that went through Apple ultimately had to have Jobs' name or finger prints on it. This is the opposite of greatness, it's a personality virus.

This ego was matched only by the compulsion to litigate. How can anybody like Apple after the injunction they obtained against Samsung, over their "all-in-one" search function? Here Jobs and co. were flexing their legal muscle to accuse their chief rivals in the market of 'stealing' its mobile device ideas, such as the search function and a sleeker form factor, when what is actually at issue is an attempt to monopolize the natural evolution of the handheld industry. In what other possible direction can the smart phone go, after all, except for a smaller, leaner form factor with added search functionality? How much different can competing TVs look, to efficiently do what TVs do?

This is why some have called Apple a retarded company, for all they do is buy patents and claim they "innovated." Beyond Jobs' selfishness and self-absorbion, his worst legacy is in encouraging the non-sharing of technological platforms, from the days of the first Mac to the iPhone. The explosion of home PCs and creative uses for them is rooted in IBM's genius decision to permit IBM-compatible architecture to flourish. Jobs may have had a better computer system, but by being so retentive about its proprietary design "he let his ice melt in the desert," so the standardized PC age passed him by.

Apple's vaunted edge in smartphones and apps is dimming, now burdened by the Jobs no-share philosophy, and the arrival of Samsung Galaxy III and other alternatives, which are surpassing Apple as the coolest, most advanced devices. Congratulations, Steve, you've managed to mess up Apple twice in a generation.by ceaselessly trying to corner the market to the exclusion of any other consideration, they find themselves trapped in their own corner. Jobs could have led by being a "radiator,' whose value translated to and enlarged others, but the Apple he delevoped leads by trying to be a "vacuum cleaner," that takes or monopolizes, without giving back.

But perhaps the tide will start turning now that some time has passed. Looks like Apple's losing all their charm now that Steve is dead. All they've got are overpriced slow-cpu phones that are getting outselled by people who do it better. "Rounded corners"? Is that all that the new iPhone is about? Samsung Galaxy is just plain better, and it has nothing to do with rounded corners. Indeed, more than 50% of iPhone components are made by Samsung. How long can Apple cling to its branded status as the sole visionary among home electronics makers, when your parts are indistinguishable from your main competition?

All of this is not to say that Steve Jobs did not contribute anything - obviously, there is the legacy of the first home computers, building the smart phone industry, Pixar and computer animation, and all the rest. This is just to say, get off your knees. But he wasn't God, and Apple isn't heaven. Let's remember his contributions in light of how many people were ripped off funding the over priced brand, and its overhyped icon.

Are You Overweight or Too Skinny?

Do you want to lose weight ?feel overweight or too skinny? Don’t get misguided !

There are many people who feel themselves slim, just because she generally associates with peers that have more body fat. There are also people who always felt she was fat, because the environment is filled with people who are lean to the maximum.

Interesting that in some parts of the world to be fat or to be thin can be a very subjective matters. Did you know that in some places in Asia there is a culture that admires overweight woman and man ? Women and men who has massive body regarded as successful people with prosperity. People who grew up in such environment will never feel themselves overweight or in need of dieting.

Meanwhile, one international assistant fashion designer (with good –slim- body) said that she always felt overweight. This happens because she hanging out and working with all international models who looks relatively thin. She even sometimes literally look in one mirror of comparison to a person with anorexia problem. Can you imagine how does she felt in the slim reflection all around of her ? She finally has to admit that she often get intimidated by any fat deposits in her body and start to measure it micro inches by micro inches.

Fat or thin in some places can be a very subjective matter. How about you?

Actually there is a simple yet precise way to calculate someone’s ideal weight. It can be calculated as follow :

Your Ideal Body Weight = (Your Body Height - 100) - (10% x (Your Body Height - 100))

If you are around the ideal, CONGRATULATIONS! You are normal.

No matter how skinny models friends around you, you are normal. The measurement of body weight can be tolerated to a maximum of 4kilogram (above or below) the normal weight.

If you are 4 kilogram lighter, you will feel comfortable wearing any clothes of your choice. My suggestion is : start to feel perfect : right now !

You are truly in perfect shape by the time you reach this minimum weight. Without you realize it, the truth is that you look really suit and your weight is in approximate equal to a television advertisements actress. Yes, you may does not looks like a fashion model on the catwalk, but you are just fit.

Do not go down more than that, because the negative effects will arise. The bones of the body, both seen and unseen by the public will stand out. In general, the face will look older because you lose the effect of a healthy child smile bloating and supple.

If you are 4 kilogram over your ideal weight, be careful. That's the highest number you should achieved (of course beyond specific medical conditions such as pregnancy and so on). No matter how fat fellow in your hobby club, do not be fooled by the comparison that you see in the mirror with them. Beyond four kilogram above your ideal body weight, you should immediately take diet plansand consume healthy foods.

If you are a maximum of 4 kilos heavier than the ideal weight, all the clothes would look right with you, plus a bit of sexy impression because of course your bust and buttocks will be prominent. For men, your belly will look just right, not too big. Your waist will look not too small, so you will appear as a prosperous and successful man.

So that is how to calculate your ideal weight. Everything is measured; including your ideal weight. Measure accurately so you will not be subjective anymore.

Barfi: The- sweet- with a- difference

‘Barfi’, the thorough entertainer released in the end of the September 2012 has been able to generate waves of emotions among the viewers and Anurag Basu has been successful in twining together rare and precious moments of love, loss, bonding and discoveries in this beautiful 150 minutes movie. The tacit words and messages which is conveyed through the movie is really praiseworthy and the efforts taken by the direction in bringing in the most apt manner makes ‘Barfi’ a super duper hit.

This is not a commercial movie which has been made keeping box office profits in mind but has been made especially for a niche set of audience who appreciates such kind of efforts. Many movies which are made seem interesting, some seem enjoyable but there are few which seem to leave you speechless, striking a chord and movies like ‘Barfi’ are some of them. The reality and the bare truths of life which is projected in the movie makes us, the audience aware of where we stand in our lives today and the degree of humanity which is seen in humans nowadays.

With a deaf and mute hero playing the lead role of male and an autistic lady to play the character of lead female makes the task of direction all the more tough as conveying message to the audience becomes difficult, but Anurag Basu has come out super- successfully in this task by his incredible intelligible efforts which is really commendable. As the plot gradually unfolds, once gets to a charming love story bringing together love, yearning, togetherness, and anticipation. The movie portrays beautifully the fantasies of first love and the emotions associated with the same. The plot also successfully brings forth the impossible tasks and endeavour’s ones goes through while one experiences the ecstasies of first love. One gets to see how an individual is forced emotionally to accept irrational as well as illogical emotions when one is in love.

The characters have been aptly chosen by Anurag giving more life to this awesome movie. The performance of Ranbir is well tinged with awesome and priceless expressions which probably we have not seen much from this actor off late. It seems he is getting better and better with every movie!

The movie has been inspired by various scenes from Mr. Bean and from the Chaplinesque comedies. Ranbir has portrayed the scenes well make the movie all the more appealing and endearing to watch. The movie apart from mischief and comedy also portrays the raw reality of life and the various hassles which are associated therein. The message conveyed by the movie is varied and hence the efforts taken by the direction and its actors is really praise worthy.

Ranbir has been seen to depict a wide array of characters wherein he portrays comedy, his unsuccessful love story with Ileana, the moments of dejections, solitude and most importantly the charm with which eh plays the role is simply mind-blowing. His performance in this movie can be quotes as one of his best performances till date. The other actors have also played their parts brilliantly and have done justice to their roles quite well. Though every actor especially the female leads have played their roles quite well, the awesome character depiction by Ranbir seems somehow to overshadow the others. Priyanka is known for treading along un-trudged paths and Ileana, the new comer has also portrayed few excellent acts making us feel that this new comer has skills in her.

Apart from these three roles, there is only Saurabh Shukla who is able to create an impact in the movie by his awesome acting skills. The songs of the movie are aptly placed with good blend of music and lyrics. The plot isn’t that enthralling or fascinating as such plots have been handled in various movies in yesteryears. It’s only in the place where the adaption is being placed in the Bollywood seems where the director seems to have slipped on few instances, but otherwise the movie is simply awesome and can be defined as a true – gem.

The movie has been casted in three stages which constitutes the year’s 1972, 1978 and the present age. Ranbir first falls in love with Ileana, but for some reasons their love story never works outs and in the due course of time he meets Jhillmill ( Priyanka Chopra) and he realizes that he actually loves her. As the plot shifts to the present age, the movie portrays the understanding which Shruti (Ileana) gains about he bonding which develops between tow individuals who are physically challenged in their own ways. How successfully one can handle life with ease even if one is physically challenged gives a clear message to all of us. Hence the social impact of this movie on the society as a whole is quite large and the same had been seen when the movie ‘Black’ had been released.

The movie has been casted with such finesse that the scenes pass by as if a gentle breeze is blowing across. To conclude if one had to rate a movie on not just the entertaining levels but also on the awesome precious moments which its gives, then Barfi is surely a super duper hit.

ARGO – Truth or Fake

Roll camera, sound, action!!! These are the common words that a director says while in a shoot, well here we are talking about a person who directs produces and acts in his movie; yes we are talking about the latest movie of Ben Affleck which is released on 10th of October, 2012 – name ARGO.

The brain child of Chris Terrio, this movie somewhat depicts the 1979 – 1980 Canadian caper which took place when several USA diplomats were hold hostage by IRAN militants. After the heroic efforts put forth by the CIA to rescue the diplomats from Tehran, IRAN was heard there came lot of rumors, papers and what we call stories as in WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW?

Mr. Terrio had also his eyes on the stories, but he went a step further, he researched it well and then came in the idea of making a movie, so that the world can understand the facts, the story was placed in front of Ben Affleck. Mr. Affleck – a versatile man of this industry, OH!!! Why did I say versatile? Well, Ben Affleck is a director, producer, actor, writer and is in the industry from 1981 till date, his break-even point – ok in easy words, he came to be known when he acted for films like Dogma, Chasing Army and also got the Golden Globe and Academy Awards. Though, he continued his passion for movies and started producing and directing them as well.

Ben Affleck along with Matt Damon formed a production house with name Live Planet. Ben Affleck is also actively involved in politics and lot of charitable trusts. A bit more about the versatile guy and then we are back in the discussion of the movie. Ben Affleck is also known to have relationship with many celebs but the one with actress Jennifer Lopez which ended in the year 2004 was always in media and in the year 2005 Mr. Affleck married Jennifer Garner, well anyways Jennifer is always with him. Mr. and Mrs. Affleck have 2 daughters and 1 son - Happy Family, right?

Ok, to all my readers who are keen on knowing more about the movie ARGO, let us get back to track and talk about what we started with. Well, first let us talk about the name ARGO, why ARGO? Did it ever came into your mind, the answer to this query is ‘watch the film’, you will see that as the film depicts a real story were in during 1979 – age of Iranian Revolution the Islamic militants had hold 52 hostages in the US Embassy in Tehran of which 6 escaped, who were disguised and named as ARGO or location scouts, so that they can be saved. The whole rescue operation was planned by CIA and Affleck plays the role of a CIA specialist Tony Mendez.

Great, now you all are aware of the cast, and have a tumbler full of ideas about the movie, dn’t you think it would be thrilling and exciting to go and watch this movie to get hold of the adventure on how did Tony (Affleck) planned and saved those 6 diplomats, a must watch movie, already released, run and grab your tickets before the house is full, and even then you do not understand on why this movie was made then here is the moral of the story as said by Ben Affleck in a press meeting “The involvement of the CIA complemented efforts of the Canadian embassy to free the six held in Tehran. To this day the story stands as an enduring model of international co-operation between governments.”

007 is the number cool or the agent !

Have you ever heard of agent 007, yes you guessed it right, I mean the guy who says ‘My name is BOND, JAMES BOND’ - Code name agent 007. Ok, let us talk about fairy tell, long time back a man named Ian Fleming wrote stories of an agent who has the right to kill, this agent was sent out in typical and bewildered / complicated mission and the chief was always sure that the mission would be accomplished.

As per the description of the agent written by Ian Fleming, this agent was a killing machine and went to any extent to make sure that the mission is accomplished. The only weakness that Mr. Fleming gave to this agent was Woman. Though, it is also depicted that this agent was so cunning that he even used his weakness for succeeding in his mission.


An agent needs to have cool gadgets to fight with for he is no super human but a normal human with some extraordinary gadgets – for this each James Bond story had a scientist who used to invent new and latest gadgets ranging from lighters to pen bombs and glass cutter to that of MW series cars fitted with rockets and ejection seats along with oil spoilers.


The search was over with SEAN and few series of movies were released. But then Ian might have thought to get a better BOND and thus till date so many actors played the role. Beginning from SEAN CONNERY then came in GEORGE LAZENBY followed by ROGER MOORE and TIMOTHY DALTON to PIERCE BROSNAN and DANIEL CRAIG.



I know now the question in our mind is - what is cool, or rather who is cool? Is it the code name,the agent name or the actors who played the role? Well, let me be clear on the fact that it has to be the actors to be the most coolest because it is them who gave us the picture of how the agent should look like and how the agent accomplished his missions. I know now you all must be thinking that so many actors played the role then who is the coolest of them all.


In a general survey conducted after the latest BOND – Daniel Craig had arrived, it was found out that most of the heard were not even aware of George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton playing the role of Agent 007 and those who were graded it as a FLOP SHOW, even some went to the extent in placing their review that Ian Fleming had selected wrong actors to depict the role of JAMES BOND 007.


Well, rumors and reviews do reach the writer’s ears and he decided to change over and bought in PIERCE BROSNAN followed by the first ever BLONDE, BLUE EYED BOND played by Daniel Craig. There is no second thought that the best was Sean Connery followed by Roger Moore,but as of date the latest heart robe is Daniel Craig. Well the oldies were depicted slow, due to the effects used and the direction of the movies, but since the revolutionary change in the technology and more experience gathered after making so many similar movies the director has also been able to give the new BOND a new cool look.


While Pierce Brosnan, was the ideal choice for being the coolest BOND, for BOND’S trademark is that the agent is always in suit, and the rich look given by suit wearing PIERCE BROSNAN was awesome, though the legacy is maintained by Mr. Craig, however the most attractive thing that makes Mr. Craig the coolest BOND is the way is kills the goons and attacks the bad guys,destroys the hideouts and dismantles bombs in the right time. The way he approaches women and uses them for his benefits, the most coolest thing is the new gadgets given to the new blonde bond and the timing he uses it, Daniel Craig succeeds to become the most coolest bond ever with just few of the movies released but the way he shows up, a cool guy who pretends as if nothing happened even after he blasts a chopper and fall down with an enemy from the roof.


To all the readers, though till date the above mentioned had been playing roles of BOND but wait for the mystery for as thrilling are the movies of IAN FLEMING so are the change of characters, hence hold your heart and wait until you see a new face playing the 007 role and might be more cool than the coolest. For you never know that the next man beside you might suddenly say ‘My name is BOND – JAMES BOND’!!!!!

Brain Drain – Does ‘Visa girl’ depict it?

Are you a habitant of Nepal, staying in Kathmandu or any other place in Nepal, and you feel like the frog in the well, want to explore the world, and want to know what is happening outside your country Nepal? Then you must watch the movie VISA GIRL. Well, do not confuse it with the name as Prachanda Man Shrestha the debut director has named it well.

Before I proceed in revealing the facts about the movie VISA GIRL, let us first talk a little about the background of how this movie was built. Nepali movies are considered as money wastage and no big financiers like to invest on Nepali movies. Yes, this is a truth, which was proven wrong when Prachanda a 29 year old guy wrote a story, different from the traditional style of Nepali movies being made and presented it to a big corporate known as Chaudhary Group whose one wing known as CG Entertainment finally approved the story and decided to pour in the lucre for the same and accordingly the movie VISA GIRL was released all over Nepal on Oct 5th 2012. The movie is directed by a new entry, Prachanda Man Shrestha; yes the lady who wrote the story, featuring Richa Sharma, Binay Shrestha, Karma, Saloni Raj Bhandari, Raymon Das Shrestha, and Reema Biswokarma in leading roles.

Now, let me give you some insight of the movie, a comedy in itself, why? Because it is a story of 3 guys who wants to go to USA, the dream land for most of youths, a country with culture, diversity, so many things to see and do - A country that welcomes new ideas and thoughts, a country with old heritages. Everyone wants to go to America to become something to earn money, to do something, to work or to study but a very few are lucky in reaching the land of American’s.


The movie showcases, as said 3 guys

First - Aditya - a teacher, whose USA visa has been already, rejected 3 times, character played by Vinay Shrestha.


Second – Sandesh - a photographer cum unsuccessful flirt who always flirts with foreigners and try to lure them so that he can reach his dreamland, but always fails, character played by Karma.


Third – Riyaz -a singer & a guitarist in a local restaurant a simple guy who plays music to earn his livelihood but has a drunkard father, character played by Raymond Das Shrestha.


They all are from different walk of life but the only thing common between all three is that they are hell bound to go abroad (USA)and why? Is it for getting rid of their daily personal problems, the pollution, and the load shedding?


All three are trying their best to go out of Nepal, but they do not know how to, when a light of hope comes in front of them as the lady angel Stuti character played by Reecha Sharma, who is a green card holder and who comes to Nepal for the purpose of raising funds for some charity work. These three dolts meet this lady, and the knowledge bulb pops up, now what they want is that they trap this girl in love, become her boyfriend and go to USA with her, huh!!! An easy way to go to USA! Well, folks not so easy though after all for these 3 guys.


Who would be the choice? Who would be the boyfriend? Who would go to America? This is where the movie creates comedy and confusion, ever seen or read plays of Shakespeare? If not then a must watch movie, if yes then it reminds the same hence a must watch movie after the whole day hectic work, so that it relaxes your mind, would provide ideas on how to go to America and at the end not to forget, smiling and laughing is a good remedy to ease in.


Ok, am not going to spoil your movie watching experience though, but since I have watched this movie approximately nine times by now, hence am not able to stay back in informing you all on how the confusion rolls over. There is a famous saying what is mine is yours, this movie makes a new saying what is yours is mine and what is mine will be mine, confusing? You all must be thinking what is confusing, so let me give you the shock now, while these three boys are ready to impress Stuti, their one way ticket to USA, on the other hand these three boys had already attracted three charming ladies who have fallen for them and are readily available whenever they need them.


The best part of the movie is it is always revolving around the main story line, hence watching it won’t take you away from the main stream. For all those who are by this time planning to see the movie, let me tell you that the movie has 4 songs and is only one hour forty five minutes long, and I leave the suspense for the climax, else no one would watch the movie…


The only thing I would like to reveal is that the new debutant director Prachanda Man Shrestha has done a good job by writing a simple story, and then giving it a good role play, with sequences and made the story comedy like Shakespeare making sure to revolve the story around the main story line while adding humor, scenes and songs as well.


The base moral of the story depicts on how people want to move out of their country and go aboard to do something in their own created dreamlands where they forget who they are and that they should be proud of their country. A song in the movie VISA GIRL has also been placed to give this thought a meaning.

So, what are you all waiting now, go rush get yourself a ticket along with your family members and watch the movie to see the climax, am sure that you might be thinking of who at the end goes to USA is it Aditya, Sandesh or Riyaz.

Steve Jobs I Hate You: Volume 1

Apple became the most valuable publicly traded company at $665.15 a share in the U.S. topping out oil tycoon Exxon Mobile. There seems to be no end in sight as the anticipation of new versions of the iPhone and iPad models that have been predicted to hit stores during the second half of this year. Apples iPod, iPhone, and most recent i pad products have become an integrated part of modern day life and in the process produced billions for its mother company. All in all considering a dwindling US economy it’s good to know of an American start up having such success. Although if you’re in the electronic consumer market ex. Samsung which just lost a jaw dropping patent copyright infringement dispute against the mogul giant. From there perspective Apple might seem more of an Evil Empire monetizing over the market Bill Gates the Darth Vader and Steve Jobs the Sith Lord. Apple’s narcissistic crusade to attempt to control the mobile world is a mere refection of egotistical mantras of Gates and Jobs.

There lays the question what could one possible despise about the rebel child Steve Jobs? After all he is the pinnacle realized notion of the American dream. With all respect to Steve’s recent passing and memory, there is nothing but admiration for what he has left the world with and there isn’t a dispute of the dedication he placed onto his life’s work. This is genuinely a man that helped shape the future of humanity for years to come.

With that note it is common knowledge that the man himself, like most eccentric wealthy billionaires had many quirks some not so admirable and was the introverted anti socialite that only a mere genius could have adopted. In relation and comparison to Bill, Jobs was the paradox of the tech geek in essence being the sales driven force behind Microsoft. He was very publicly accepted and well liked for a long period time post Apples burst into dominant success. Bill Gates was the evil child of the duo and could have easily been the leader of a new world order. But with time the seasons do change and Gates stepped away and good heartily devoted his efforts to the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.

One can speculate when or why Steve turned to the dark side, his departure from Apple’s inner circle. His health itself could have been the reason for his late judgment calls and withdrawal but those in themselves are mere speculations. Jobs always obsessing over control surprisingly out of character gave freedom to Walter Isaacson's in the composition of his 571-page biography. Thus exposing and solidifying not very admirable business practices and sadly personal faults of a man. To Jobs defense tragically he never got the opportunity to reflect and correct or even change as Gates has done. You can’t commend a dying man for being meticulous over what he spent so much time and energy building none of us common man could even fathom off. But everything must come with sacrifice and Jobs family surely must have missed the man we will never have known, and this is neglect is a character flaw not easily forgiven. In the media his presence was gloom rarely offering a smile and the hunt tactics that he enforced going after anyone that threatened Apple. This including confiscating property of school kids citing copyright infringements has cast Apples operations under a grey lighted reputation that the public seemingly ignores probably sue to the rake back it’s given via stock profits. Not to mention the questionable outsourcing by a stronghold American business in a failing of its motherland.  Lingering whispers of overworked slaved Chinese workers left with little monetary compensation. All well in Steve Jobs moral responsibility and conscious.
