Why Blue Actually works on the Social Web !

Why is Facebook so blue? why is Twitter bird also blue? as a matter of fact,so are orkut,LinkedIn ,MySpace and the blogging platform,WordPress like many.

Although Facebook has gone through major redesigns in the last few years, the blue color has remained more or less the same all through. From the sign up page to their logo, the buttons, popups and even their mobile apps have sahases of blue. Ask the face of Facebook himself ,Mark Zuckerberg would reply "Blue is the riches color for me.I can see all of blue." According to Zuckerberg's Interview in the New Yorker by Jose Antonio Vargas,Colors doesnot matter Much to him. A few Year ago he took an online test and realized that he was red-green color-blind.
According to Colour Lovers Blue is the Top Choice amongst Popular Web Brands

Earlier Colour Lovers released a report on the colors of the social web. According to the data analyzed by their Twitter theme tool(Themeleon ),blue was a Dominant Color in people's profile design. Unlike most social networking sites,Twitter allows its users to select a theme to represent themselves, thus projecting their digital persona with colors. Color Lovers decided to study this color preference by analyzing choices made by over 1 million people who used 'Themeleon' over a period of 3 months. Interestingly a majority of people didn't wander that far off from Twitter's Default light blue Colors.

Colours Lovers also discovered that blue is the ruling color among the top 100 sites in the world ,Followed by the Red Color.

FULL REPORT OF COLOURS LOVER

According to Wired Magazine
Companies spend millions trying to differentiate from others. Yet a quick look at the logos of major corporations reveals that in color as in real estate, it's all about location, location, location. The result is an ever more frantic competition for the best neighborhood. Here's a look at the new blue bloods.

The Psychology of its Audience Drives the way a website is designed and Laid out Visually, in the Attempt to strike an emotional chord with its users .Social media has not only Revolutionized how people use the internet ,but even how its appears to them as well. Catering to a multicultural generation, targeting 18 to 40-years old, these websites need to appeal to a wide rather very wide genre of People .The social web can no longer carry off the primitive 'one way' deign, where designers create a website and push it to audience .Not only are users generating most on the content in the Social arena, they are given the freedom to choose which and how sets of feature should appear on their page. Personalization is the core.

Thus the degin must offer a diverse audience individualistic content and elements , without undermining the Power of social validation, a phenomenon in which peoples actions are influenced by others around them.

Facebook tips for a Successful Business in 7 STEPS

Facebook is the website with the second highest traffic rank on the internet. That means that only,Google receives more visitors. Their website has grown at an incredible rate since it was created. It is said that every fifth person on this planet is a member of Facebook.

It would be insane not to make use of this incredible source of traffic. You could miss out on potential customers for your business and many many sales.

Part One: An introduction to Facebook

Facebook isn't the only social networking site out there. Before the site was established, websites like MySpace had already been around for a while. The only difference is that Facebook took things to a whole new level. They made it easier to communicate with your friends and family, find new contacts and interact.Sharing your life with others had never been as easy as with Facebook. They introduced a new Social Networking Era.

This also gave Internet Marketers more than a hand full of new opportunities. They were able to reach millions of potential customers all around the world, with almost deadly precision.

This is also an amazing opportunity for you, since Facebook continues to grow every single day there are always new customers to reach.

What can you expect?
Not only did the number of users on Facebook increase, but also the number of applications that became available. You could chat with your friends and family, play games, share photos and even more!

People like you and me started to look for methods to make money using Facebook, and quite a few ended up making some good money.
With Facebook having over five 800 million users by now, it simply can't be ignored! If you haven't jumped onto this amazing opportunity yet, then you are missing out on something big here...

Part 2 : Facebook Marketing
Using Facebook to grow your business, get more leads or traffic is basically defined as Facebook Marketing. It's a form of social media marketing where you use Facebook as a method of communication between you and your customers, offering your goods or services.

Facebook has an incredibly useful feature called Facebook Fan Pages, where you create little sites which can be used to get followers, similar to growing your email list. This is very useful and you should be using it to grow your business.

After a while you will have quite a few followers, so that you will be able to promote your business to them. You have a lot of ways to do that. You can post on your fanpage “Wall”, post photos, videos or anything else that's relevant to your niche market.

When you post something on your wall, everyone who “liked” your fanpage will automatically get it, so you can reach everyone with a single click.

Part 3: Facebook FanPages

What you will want to do now is create your first fanpage. To do this you will have to be logged in to Facebook. Once you have done that just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Create a Page”.

You will now be able to choose between a couple of different types of pages to create. Once you select one you will have to enter some necessary details to continue.

Increasing your number of fans
A great way to increase your fanbase is to your Facebooks own Ad platform. You can send visitors directly to your offer or to your fanpage. The last option is clearly the one I would recommend since it's cheaper and more effective. Remember, you want to build a following to be able to promote to in the future. Quick money is good, but it's gone just about as quick as it came.

If you are not comfortable with using Facebook ads, there are two more way to get quick followers to jump-start your fanpage.

The first one is through FIVERR
What is fiverr?
Fiverr is a website that allows just about anyone with a PayPal account to sign up and offer their services. By default, each service must be offered for five dollars per gig.
The website has gone viral like few other websites has, mainly because it somewhat revolutionized the way people could make quick profit online. It’s great for people who are just starting to make money online and it will for sure help you pay for that domain name, web hosting and everything you need to get started with your real business.

There is a FREE alternative to get Facebook likes. You will need to sign up on YouLIKEHITS

Part 4: Build your List with Facebook
How about being able to build your list through your Facebook fanpage. Wouldn't that be great?

Almost every serious marketer out there has an email list. If you don't then you should consider this option.

You will first have to search for “facebook landing page app”. When you find it, just install it on your fanpage through the settings tab.

After that, you will have to add a html code into your “before liking” and “after liking” box. What you want to achieve through a Facebook landing page is to make people want to sign up, or “like” your page in exchange for a free gift or bonus.

It can be a free ebook or even a video course. You can be creative here. Creating a product isn't even as difficult as it may seem at first. You can write a little guide about anything you like or search for a PLR product with give-away rights.

If you combine this with Facebook advertising, it's almost as if you were paying for leads. This is an excellent and effective way to build your list.

BELOW IS THE EXAMPLE

Part 5: Let it spread
The reason that Facebook was able to grow at such an incredible rate is that it's VIRAL in nature. Stuff on Facebook spreads like wildfire. This is even more evident than on other social networking platforms because of the vast amount of possibilities they offer. Many people get adicted to Facebook for this exact same reason. You can spend hours on there doing everything and basically nothing at the same time!
This is something that you can use to your advantage.

How can you go viral yourself?
People on Facebook are connected to their friends through a large network. Status updates of each and every one such as “Liking” a page or writing on someone elses wall will be shown on that person’s news feed.
The point here is. Whenever you get your followers to interact on your fanpage, it will show on their friends news feed as well. This way many of those friends will want to check out your fan page as well and possibly “like” it as well.
You could see your fanpage grow at an insane speed it you get enough people to join and interact on it.
That's why buying “likes” can help to start that process for you.

Part 6: How to use Facebook Ads

Facebook now has it's very own Ad platform, allowing you to reach out to users worldwide and present what you have to offer. It's similar to Google adwords, but a lot cheaper if you know how to use it correctly.

First of all you will have to log in to Facebook and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Then click on “Advertising”.

After that you will click on “Create an Ad” in the top right corner.

Now you will be able to to enter the details for your ad. A little tip from me...When selecting your ad image, take your time to create a small red frame around your image. Nobody ever does that and it makes your ads really stand out.

After clicking on “continue” you will now be able to further target your Ad. The possibilities here are almost endless. You can be as specific as you wish.
And the best thing is, you will always be able to see the estimated reach of your ad on the right hand side.

Part 7:What not to do on Facebook

It's a big mistake to believe that people on Facebook are there to buy something. If they sense you are trying to sell something to them, then things are probably not going to work for you.

You need to build a strong relationship with your Facebook fans, offering value and giving without expecting anything in return. That's when you will start to see the success rolling in.

Another mistake would be not to split-test your Facebook ads. You will never know which ad converts better if you don't try different versions. You could be missing out on a lot of money it you don't do this.
If you avoid these two mistakes, then you can't really go wrong.

Conclusion
Facebook offers a great opportunity for every internet marketer who knows how to use it correctly. Don't waste your time and put there methods to practice right now!

10 Tips to Avoid Cyber Monday Scams

It seems that the holiday shopping season comes earlier and earlier each year. Luckily, in the digital age, you can ditch the long lines of Black Friday and join the Cyber Monday crew by doing all your shopping online. However, even though shopping online is quick and convenient, there are risks involved.

According to Forrester Research, online shopping this holiday season is expected to generate almost $59.5 billion. And 90% of consumers will shop online, according to PriceGrabber’s winter holiday shopping survey. This increased traffic turns the virtual marketplace into a winter wonderland for hackers, who are gearing up to swipe credit cards and personal information to commit fraud and identify theft.

Cybercriminals exploit the holiday season and target Internet users through a variety of methods, including online shopping scams, fraudulent emails, e-card and phishing schemes and more. One of the main focuses for hackers this holiday season is social media. Beware of fake profiles on social networking and ecommerce sites that are meant to mimic well-known corporate brands and coax users into clicking on their content. Malicious content can easily hide in Facebook links and Twitter posts.

Social Networking : Quickest ways to get connected !

We are going to make a not-so -shocking revelation ."For an average users, social networking accounts for the most time spent online!"so here is how you can get even better at it.

Use all in one Messengers.
why use separate instances of Gtalk,Yahoo!,MSN,IRC,Facebook chat etc? Instead you can use a multiple-protocol messenger such as Digsby or Miranda  to aggregate all your chat and social networks into one place.pf these Disgsby is more visually appealing while Miranda is robust, offering Plugin support and customization.

Chromed Bird extension in Action
Use Extensions.
Extensions especially on Google chrome allow you to do a lot more and a lot faster when it comes to keeping track of updates and updating your social networks.Social networking be it Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or any other networks, is all about now. You need access to update all the time. Chrome extensions such as "Chrome Bird", "Facebook for Google Chrome", etc give you notification for comments, Updates and Replies. They will also allow you to Update status right from a Pop-up bubble without ever changing tabs. Head over to Chrome Web Store  for wide array of extensions.

Phone apps all the way
If you are not using your phone to networking on the go ,you are loosing out on a lot of precious moments in your daily commute where you could be catching up on lot happening ,iPhone and Android will have a host of apps but when it comes to lesser mortals like J2ME and Symbian we've found Snaptu to be a very good performer. It's Light and fast on the slowest of Phones.

Use one-to-many Updaters
One of the painful time consuming aspects of social Networking ironically is updating your status on all of those social networks you so enthusiastically joined .Fret not, services such as Ping Fm  will help you update your status in a jiffy on all of your social networks at once. The web app has an amazing number of services under its umbrella;from common one likes Facebook, twitter,Myspace to obscure one such as Identica,Tumblr and StatusNet. If you don't like ping.fm then there is always HELLOTEXT

The Xperia Arc is certainly a large handset but still quite comfortable to hold and lightweight. It runs a 1 GHZ scorpion Processor with the Adreno 205 GPU got accelerating games and video Playback. The LED backlit display sports a 480 x 854 Pixel Resolution that's high enough to make colours  seriously stand out. It doesn't Have a hot swap slot for the microSF which could be an issur for some, however 320 MB of internal storage is available for apps. Sony Erisson has included the TimeScrape UI option and widget for simultaneously updating your Twitter and FB view all your Message, people's updates on FB/Twitter and New calls/messages form this one vertical scrolling interface.

The native audio player with its few EQ presets managed to dish out audio quite well . Tones, although slightly jarring on full volume were still decently well balanced. The Arc does not support DIVX or XviD video Codecs out of the box. So you'll have to download and use a third party media player from the android market. The Arc is well equipped for connectivity form 3G, standard EDGE/GPRS,WiFi with DLNA compatibility and tethering 8 megapixel camera is ccompanied by an LED flash that's quite handy in low lit areas. However the quality of immages shot was quite average especially in low Light.

The Arc's 1500 mAh battery serves it well. It lasts for a little over two days with Moderate usages.
For it Price it should have offered more features such as Dual-Core CPU, Larger Screen and More Storage Space.

FOR:Smooth user Interface,Good audio Quality

AGAINST: No Divx and MKV supports

SOCIAL TOOL : Tweetdeck , Improves Twitter Experience !

Twitter can be a confusing mess. Once you've started following 10 or more people,it becomes really difficult to keep up with all the updates.. the further you scale up the less practical it becomes it becomes to read every single post, and then of course important information might slip past undetected.Even worse, some people post updates constantly and searches for real-time news, which twitter excels at update far too quickely to be read . Twitter allows users to create list in order to filter users, but the website interface is clunky at best.

The solution lies in separating Twitter as as service from its own website. If it wasn't for mobile phone clients,we'd never have the kind of real time updates and photo sharing that we do today. Similarly, dozens of third party clients exist for the desktop, which improve upon the default experience in some way.

Tweetdeck's genius feature is the organization of Twitter lists columns that are displayed simultaneously and can be read at a glance. You can also quickly create and edit lists, allowing you to weed out people who spam your timeline and cultivates those whose posts are genuinely useful . Search results are displayed in their own columns, which can easily be left visible or knocked off when they aren't useful anymore. Most importantly you can immediately see when you have new mentions and direct messages, which are easy to miss on the Actual Twitter page.

Tweetdeck have completely changed the way of using Twitter.More than twitter itself , Tweetdeck have Improved the way Twitter works.

Facebook makes Major changes,Introduces Timeline : Mark Zuckerberg

As we predicted, Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote at the f8 conference in San Francisco Thursday introduced some of the most profound changes seen on Facebook since its inception. So many changes, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track. So here’s a handy-dandy guide.

At the F8 developer conference in San Francisco, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduces a revamped profile page called Timeline, which gives users more control and a chance to look back on everything they've ever published on the social network.

The new Timeline is the answer to the problem of filling in the context of someone’s entire life. It is a moving mosaic of the photos, videos, places and status updates that make up not just your Facebook profile, but in a way, your personality. Facebook wants to chronicle your life, and now you can see the scrapbook.

Facebook today announced the Timeline (currently in beta), which lets you highlight all the important updates of your life on one page. It’s not out yet, but when it does finally roll out in a few weeks, it will completely replace your current Facebook profile.

The official way to get the new feature is to go to facebook.com/about/timeline and click on the green Sign Me Up button. You won’t get it right away, but you will presumably be put on a list of people who will get it sooner rather than later.

New interface looks.

Chrome Turn THREE ! Happy Birthday Chrome

Google launched its Chrome Web browser on September 1, 2008 —three years ago. Google has a lot more to celebrate than a birthday, however.

It’s also been a big year for the Chrome ecosystem, with the launch of the Chrome webstore in December and Chrome books in June. Neither of these has taken off yet, but Google is laying the groundwork for Chrome to become a robust, entirely web-based alternative to traditional operating systems like Windows.

The launch of offline Gmail, Calendar and Docs yesterday best underscores the status of these efforts: they’re still early and rough around the edges (offline Gmail doesn’t even support keyboard shortcuts yet), but you can see the potential. Chome’s future success as an OS is hardly a given, but Google is putting a lot of weight behind it.

Despite the limitations, Chrome's audience has grown explosively since its 2008 launch. According to statistics from Stat Counter, the browser's market share hit 10 percent last year and continued growing to 23 percent, as of this month. It's become an important part of Google's product landscape, serving as the central pillar of the company's ambitious Chrome OS operating system.

Check out this interactive HTML5 page created by Google Chrome team to understand the evolution of web.
