Samsung GalaxyS3, BlackBerryZ10, BlackBerryQ10 and iPhone5 Face Off

With the revolutionary name change from RIM to Blackberry, there came the announcement of new smartphones boasting unique operating systems- Blackberry10 OS. The new entrants were of course BlackberryZ10 and BlackberryQ10. It definitely would be amazing to see how they would square off with two smartphones that took the market by storm in the year, The Samsung GalaxyS3 and the iPhone5.

While it would be a little far-fetched to say that Blackberry can outshine the achievements of Apple and Samsung in the new future, the Z10 definitely tailored with the end user in mind and Q10 as well. Thus, the Canadian company has produced devices that would nudge any customer to try them out. We go right ahead to compare the technical aspects of the four smartphones all striving to get a share of the market.

The BlackberryZ10 boasts a 4.2inch display offering a significant resolution of 1280 by 768 pixels plus a ppi of 355. The Z10 has dual core functionality of 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor tailored on Krait technology. There also is a memory of a 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM . It also has a microSD slot with the ability of carrying up to 64GB. The processing of graphics is done by the Adreno225 unit.

The Z10 operates on the Blackberry10 OS. When it comes to connectivity functions the device features LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm jack , NFC, microUSB, GPS and Wi-Fia/b/g/n.It also spots an autofocus 8megapixel camera on its back. The camera has LEDflash, geo-tagging, stabilization of images, detection of facial images, HDvideo recording operating on 30fps. There also is a front side 2megapixel camera with a 30fps recording capacity of HDvideos.

The gadget also comes with a 1,800mAh battery, a 9mm thickness and weight of 137grams. The second smartphone from the Canadian company, the Blackberry Q10 operates on the Blackberry10 OS too. It has a QWERTY keyboard, 10.4mm thickness and a weight of 139grams. It comes with an 8 megapixel camera that has auto-focus functionality, LEDflash, continuous autofocus, stabilization of images, detection of faces and Geo-tagging. There is another camera as well.

The Q10 has 1.5GHz dual core processor, a TI OMAP 4470 unit and boasts PowerVR SGX544GPU. With a 2GBRAM, internal storage capacity of 16GB and a microSD capacity, the device is not lacking in the ability to store documents. For connectivity, it has 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, microUSB, 3.5mm audio jack and even GPS.

As for iPhone5, it is the biggest smartphone from the Cupertino Company. It comes with an IPS TFT of 1,160 by 640pixels and 4inches. It’s powered by dual core 1.2GHz Apple A6 processor aided by PowerVR SGX543MP3 GPU. Its storage capacity is 1 GB of RAM and 16/32/64 internal capacity. The connectivity features of this iPhone reek of modern technology; 4G LTE, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi a/b/g/n, 3G, and even GPS. It is the only smartphone amongst the four being compared here that lacks the NFC chip.

The 8megapixel camera comes with sensor and autofocus features, LEDflash video, geo tagging, touch focus and image recording. It also has panorama, HDR, 1080P, 30 fps video recording capacity, stabilization of video as well as a front 1.2megapixel camera that boasts a HDvideo recording ability and face detection ability.

The gadget is 7.5mm thick, has a weight of 112grams and a 1,440mAh battery. The Samsung GalaxyS3 comes with Android4.1 Jelly Bean and spots a quad core Exynos 4 Quad chipset operating on four Cortex A9 cores set on 1.4GHz and a Mali 400MP GPU.The Galaxy S3 comes with a 1 GBRAM, microSD slot and internal storage choices are 16, 32 0r 64.

As relates to connectivity, 3G, 21 Mbps, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB GPS and an audio jack are featured. The autofocus 8megapixel camera comes with LED flash, HD video recording, geo tagging, picture and video stabilization, face detection, touch focus, same time HD video and picture recording. There also is a 1.9megapixel camera that faces the user.

With a 133 gram weight,a 8.6 mm profile and 2,100 mAh battery power this is a performance oriented device.

As we are not basing this analysis solely on component hardware parts, but also on design of the OS, available applications and user-friendliness, we go ahead to predict the fate of Blackberry in the wake of this competition.

Samsung GalaxyS3, BlackBerryZ10, BlackBerryQ10 and iPhone5 compared

Blackberry lauds its business customers and it is my prediction that they will no doubt try to appeal to that market segment to grab a fast against their competitors. The BlackberryQ10 will definitely help them achieve this to some level but it will not offer a massive tilt of the scales they are after. As a matter of fact, three features will be important in establishing Q10’s success; the cost and its ready availability, the functionality of the operating system and the applications it boasts as well as strength of the battery.

Many consumers hope to get a high performance smartphone spotting QWERTY keyboard, definitely here has been a shortage of this in the market. Motorola’s Milestone only went as far as the third generation. In Europe, people got a hold of the first and second generations only. HTC announced that it would move away from the manufacture of physical keyboarded smartphones and thus there will be no other invention after the HTC DesireZ.

Blackberry’s Q1O brings an AMOLED display plus a unique 720 by 720 pixel resolution and a hardware QWERTY keyboard . It still manages to weigh below 140 grams and is 11mm thick. TI OMAP processor is a new release and so is its GPU and a 2GB RAM fitted Blackberry. In my analysis, the Q10’s success in the market will depend upon the three influential factors aforementioned.

However, as regards its component parts, the BlackberryZ10 qualifies to be mid-level smartphone. With the choice of one of Qualcomm’s top performing processors and an Adreno225 unit GPU, we are looking at sufficient processor capacity yet what is of value is how the operating system was tailored for the CPU’s dual core functionality.

The Blackberry Z10 sure looks appealing in its white color and this definitely is not about my beliefs but rather about the wishes of potential customers. Like any other person, I cannot wait to get myself this smartphone and make more informed conclusions. In any case, many aspects of the gadget will come to be known once people lay their hands on the smartphone.

iPhone-6 – Apple going green

It has been rumored that the next iPhone 6 which is due to be released during Christmas 2013 is following the going green agenda. Apple seems to have suddenly realized its social responsibility or is it just another trick for capturing a bigger market share remains to be seen. With Apple incorporating upon the going green schema in more than one way, let’s see on how the same would be affecting the likes and dislikes of consumers and the Apple fanatics.

By replacing the ORB battery with a casing made of plastic polymer is probably making headlines and Apple is all set to bring the difference as goes the tagline of the company. This change which has been incorporated by the company would not just be helping the users but would also play an important role in conserving the ecosystem. In addition to the same, it has also been rumored that the upcoming iPhone 6 to come up with a graphene touchscreen and hence has used no heavy metals in making the set. We are yet to receive any conformations or official declarations from Apple’s side on the same. There are also speculations that Apple would do away with the indium tin oxide basal structure and the touch screen would be made up of a polymer which is of an atom dense kind. In addition to the same, iPhone 6 is said to come up with a much thinner base than the previous versions of iPhone’s which have been released.

Due to the sleek structure, the user would be able to easily trace, draw, better touch facility and much more efficient game-play.

Apple is all set to introduce the organic radical battery or the ORB which has been designed by NEC of Japan. By replacing the lithium ion battery Apple has been able to do away with the heavy metals which had been harmful ecologically. There are rumors that the new ORB battery would be able to give iPhone 6 a recharge time of just 30 odd seconds! To add to the punch it has been seen that this little battery would be having a higher energy density as well, thereby giving the phone a better battery life which probably the previous versions of Apple has been lacking. So this may be one of the trump cards for Apple Inc. it seems.

To add the feather to the cap is the plastic casing made of eco-friendly materials. So now it is a good bye to the polycarbonate casing which had been used till date and a welcome sign to the new and latest isoplast polymer made up of plastic which is naturally produced. By doing this, the casing would become all the more biodegradable. The initiative by Apple Inc. here is to enhance the durability of the model as this new isoplast polymer casing would be able to withstand extreme conditions better as well as harder falls and drops as well!

Furthermore by making the 6 version much sleeker, slimmer and lighter, would be an added bonus for Apple when it would be there in the market competing with the other ‘droid’ equivalents. Being in the race is necessary when the competition gets tougher and though with the brand name which Apple has created, getting sales would never be a problem, but who would never want to enhance the sales level by some more. That extra bit is liked and probably wished by all entrepreneurs and why would Apple be behind in race.

Coming to the changeable topography which has been linked with the upcoming iPhone 6, is yet another speculation which is being made by the tech pundits. Though we well know that all kinds of devices which are touchscreen in nature have some or the other kind of similarity in the formatting of background. This upcoming iPhone 6 is probably going to be the 1st phone which would have few specific kind of images appearing on the screen in a 3D fashion for highlighting the significance of the same. In addition to the same, the iPhone 6 would be having an extraneous background litter present on the screen, as ‘deflate’ for providing the user with a better appealing experience. This kind of technology would be more useful while one uses the internet browsers, streaming online videos or playing online video games. Have you ever thought of an option where you can easily zoom the video that you are streaming or lift the image from the screen when all the other aspects have been lowered? No right? Then iPhone 6 is what would help you do it. With 3D technology in, it seems iPhone 6 is all set to top the charts with its new features. Though not all have been said or declared about this iPhone 6, all what has been discussed above is based upon the varied speculations made by different tech experts.

Top-apps-for-iPhone-by-TDW

Handheld and mobile devices have gone constant transformation with inclusion of touchscreens in place of buttons. They get more sleek and stylish and come loaded with features that were only thought of in science fiction movies or books. And how could one forget the contribution of Apple in this regard as they produced one of the revolutionary devices with its product called iPhone. But what matters most in a classy and advanced smartphone is how it looks from inside too and what are the applications that it possess that sets it apart from its counterparts. So, even an iPhone user could be looked down upon, if he doesn’t keeps himself updated with the latest and most sought after applications. So it would be better if we too follow the trend and take a look at the most used and downloaded applications by an iPhone user.

Instagram

One of top downloaded application it is a photo-sharing and social networking application. It comes with nifty filters that enhance the total experience. Awarded one of the best application it does capture one’s imagination with the tags and comments and followers of the image that is posted. The most interesting feature that this application has is the confining the images in a square shaped frame instead of using the 4:3 aspect ratio that is boasted by the mobile cameras. It has won many accolades and awards including ‘best locally made application’. It helps to find other users on instagram by suing hash-tags and currently is the most sought after application by the youths. The popularity it gained was so much that even Facebook offered to buy them at a huge price.

Facebook

As much the social media website itself the Facebook application is also in the limelight as users always reach out to other users socially through this site. But the heavy pages of the website could be a hindrance for faster navigation so Facebook comes up with its own lighter version with this application. Along with clear icons for friends, notifications and other major events which can be access singularly at a time keeps the application interesting and easily manageable. This application is the perfect complement to the Facebook users who constantly keeps in social touch even on the go and tells the world what we are up to with photos and videos to get our circle entertained.

Google Maps

After the Apple maps debacle Google maps returned to IPhone users to bring much relief to them. The constant travelling and the need navigate through unknown terrains was never so much helpful with the use of this application. The Google support produces the exact details of all the localities and even helps us to find the restaurants, pubs, bars, pharmacy and other such places of importance in proximity of our location. There is also provision for finding directions with clear description of routes if one has to travel to a new place of which he has no idea how to reach. With the failure of Apple maps this application has way to go for getting the top spot in the world of mobile navigation and GPS facilities. Flashlight- Suppose we are having a social evening at our room and suddenly all goes dark as the power fails. We have no idea where the candles are but that doesn’t means we will be in the dark. It is here where the flashlight application comes in handy. The strong LED light can be used as a torch and is a must have for every iPhone. Also it helps in taking really clear and good photos even in the dark thus act as a cool application for all the people who love to capture special moments of their lives.

Pinterest

This social tagging site creates quite a buzz as an application. The site as boast its features it got high appreciation to all those who are closely attached to the art and design sector. The popular photo tagging and sharing application has all the features of the website version but the experience it creates in a smaller screen of phone compared to computer monitor is quite something. Available from the apple stores for free, it is easier to use and the pin it options are more fun and with a better and concise menu the experience is rather comforting. And we can give a smile a just say Pinned it!

Twitter

Having a twitter account is not enough if we cannot post tweets about what we are up to. Thus steps in the Twitter application for the iPhone. It is smaller, easier to handle and works in the same way as the website but the clear demarcation of the various activity areas is helpful to manage our account. Also following others is easier as the screen takes up the place for all the posting it has got. The use of Hash-tags and sharing of ideas and photos are easier as we can include the contacts and data in the phone itself. So the world never loses the sight of us and we can keep tweeting at will.

Temple Run

It is not new to many of us to get bored while waiting for someone or something. But having Temple Run with us can be quite helpful in these times. The game which has every ounce of fun and simplicity never bores its player. It starts with a tomb raider being chased by the temple spirits and our only aim is to save him. The 3D view with the game’s camera positioned behind and above him, the games looks quite inviting. We have just to swipe up to jump or swipe down to slide and left and right swipe makes him run through the narrow lanes collecting coins. The more someone plays, the faster the raider runs and the numbers of obstacles increase and we literally have to be on the alert and on edge of the seat to get him alive. It is just the perfect time wasters that get every gamer to have a long shot at this frenzied game.

Flipboard

How do we feel if we have some shiny new magazine in our hands that shows exactly what we want and in an interactive manner? And with touchscreen phone it becomes a whole new era of flipping through pages. Flipboard is an application for the iPhone users that performs exactly this task. It creates a scrapbook where we can draw links from the social networks and stick it on this application. This was basically an iPad application which gets its phone mode adaptation because of the ease of use. It creates an obvious necessity for reading through the favorite content in our free time. It is blazingly fast and if we tap on any one story or link it appears enlarges itself presenting the full content to us. It really creates a new bench mark for the company’s flagship smartphones and makes it as a must have application.

DRAW me

Got an aptitude for drawing but keep forgetting your papers and paints? Or is it too heavy to carry? Stop worrying about all these petty things that can hamper stint at painting or drawing. IPhone brings us one of the most innovative drawing applications called DRAW me. It comes at tough navigation with lots of support for lines or shapes, colors design and clip art. It can even help us to edit any one of the photos taken through the camera and make it to our liking. We can also use it to create paintings of our own without worrying about pens or paper, even on the go. For all those worried mother who have kids just started their painting stint and makes themselves and all the places dirty it comes with alphabet support and also help one’s kid to be kept clean. For all those who love colors in their life this is one application that can take breathe away for those who use it.

Today mobile phones have are adapting such technologies that can help its user to remain engrossed in whatever they like most, be it flipping through a magazine, or painting or drawing or share their whereabouts. And mobile phones are developed for exactly what it supposes to do by connecting people all over the world. Thus these applications are something that helps in keeping touch and remain connected to others in the way to our liking. And they are also helping us to pursue our hobbies in the leisure times of the day no matter where we are. So let us enjoy pinning or drawing something, and be available to all the people that matters by sharing a bit of our life through the social media even while we are navigating our way through the remotest part of the world.

Steve Jobs Resigns As CEO Of Apple: Stock Price DIPS

Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs resigned today as chief executive officer from Apple. His place at the top of the company will be taken by Tim Cook, previously Apple's chief operating officer.

In January 2009, Jobs said that he was suffering from a hormone imbalance that was impeding his body's ability to absorb certain proteins. In April of that year, Jobs underwent liver transplant surgery and returned to work by early July. In August 2004, Jobs underwent successful surgery to treat a rare form of pancreatic cancer, which sidelined him until September of that year

While Jobs has announced that he is stepping down as CEO of Apple, he is taking on a new role as chairman of the board. Replacing Jobs as the chief will be Tim Cook. Cook has been at Apple for some time now and has an impressive background in the tech industry. Insiders have said that if there is one person who could continue Apple on its path of innovation like Jobs, it is Cook

Apple shares are down about 5% in after-hours trading following the news that Steve Jobs was stepping down as CEO.

This is to be expected: 5% is not actually a large drop, considering the importance of Jobs to the company he founded. Apple’s share price is astronomical, it’s true. But that isn’t just because of Steve Jobs. It’s because Apple has been producing – increasing its share in the PC market, continuing its performance in smartphones and MP3 players, and just trouncing everyone when it comes to tablets. If Jobs weren’t ill, one could imagine that the stock price would be a good deal higher.

The news comes just as the market had made up some positive ground after several rough weeks for stock prices. In a related note, Gold prices were down in something of a sell off today, closing down over $100 per ounce with a closing price of $1,757.30.

Analysts Not Giving Up On Apple Despite Jobs Leaving

Investors and analysts say they aren't giving up on the company's stock, even after Jobs regins. Still, investors and analysts say they don't question the prospects for a company that has shown repeatedly it can redefine not only technology but itself. They point to products with commanding presences, a marketing well-oiled marketing strategy and $76 billion in cash that can be used for acquisitions, dividends or buybacks.

"Apple not only survives Steve, but it continues to prosper," says Tim Ghriskey, chief investment officer for Solaris Asset Management in New York, which holds Apple shares in a $2 billion fund. "Apple has done a lot to attract very high level creative talent which will perpetuate the creativeness Steve has established."

Ghriskey says Apple might consider buying the 5.5 million shares, or 0.6% of the company's shares outstanding, that Jobs owns. Those shares are worth roughly $2 billion at Apple's current stock price.

Some analysts and investors say any pullback is an opportunity to snap up shares of a company that is driven by enviously strong fundamentals. Apple's stock is up roughly 60% from its year low amid expectations earnings growth will top 80% and revenue will jump by two thirds in the fiscal year ending in September.

They also say Apple will continue delivering hit products because of the culture Jobs has created at the company.

"Tim is molded after Steve," said Colin Gillis, an analyst at brokerage BGC Partners, who recommends buying Apple stock on the dips. "If they got an outside CEO, there might be concern."

New Rumors:" iPhone 5" releasing on September with larger screen, button less design !!

Release Rumors

Hang on to your hats, because there's another rumored release date for Apple's next-generation iPhone.
The latest comes from the China Times, which says that Apple plans to produce 4 million units of the device following a production run of 400,000 test units. That's all to ready the device for a release in the second week of September.

According to 9to5mac the highly anticipated iPhone 5 is set for release this coming September (probably 6-15th) and that the iPad 3 launch will be delayed due to component issues, and is to follow this coming fall. Apparently, the new September 6 to 15 rumor is the newest version of the older “September 5″ rumor circulating on the internet because it’s impossible for Apple to release a phone on an American holiday.

 The display

Mobile Fun, a British mobile-phone blog, has posted images of what it says is the design for a next-generation iPhone case leaked "from a Chinese case manufacturer."

Among them: what appears to be a larger, roughly 4-inch display screen, a curved rear panel more like earlier iPhones than the iPhone 4, and a hole on the back -- about where the Apple logo is on current phones. Some Apple observers speculate that hole indicates a possible new location for the device's antenna, replacing the iPhone 4's much maligned side antenna.

Although the iPhone 5 rumors are piling up, we still don’t have a date for when the new device will actually appear. The gossip site MacRumors reported Wednesday on a prediction that the next-gen handset could appear the second week in September, but Steve Jobs hasn’t portentously booked the Moscone Center for any announcements (yet).
