In the world of mad rush where we need constant streaming of data and information at our fingertips and at an instant the future of “Tabs” or tablet PC are shining like a superstar. We have come a long way from the time when handheld devices that can be used for online conference or gaming at the go or using it for a purpose where high level of software utilization are the things that were available in only the “James Bond” or some science fiction movies. And with the ever advancement in the field of electronics and hardware like touchscreen features, or 3D/HD visibility we are living in the age that no men have thought possible even 15 years back and was seen as fantasy or maybe bizarre madness.
With the recent requirements of the mankind which asks for more features in their dream devices with better visibility, impressive looks and portability, the war rages on. With everyday updates of faster processors and better storage capability along with lightening speed connectivity to the internet there are technologies and devices that are adored as the ‘Apple of the eye’ where some are treated as tramp device. These features sometimes provide the “Nexus” between people and “Kindles fire” in the heart of generation whereas they just go cold in the market.
Whenever we need to choose between our dream gadgets we need to know more about them. Recently the buzz is going on between choosing the right one for us between the products of the Giants. Should we go for the evergreen Apple iPad mini, or will it be Amazon’s Kindlefire HD, or should the accolades go to Google’s Nexus 7? Let us find out who has a better chance of winning.
Amazon’s Kindlefire HD is the cheapest tab changed the concept that tabs are costly. With elegant looks, strong hardware and software support and cheaper on the pocket it has really changed the game for many. But the fact that hit this device is that its marketability outside US. The gadget comes with Android 4.1 platform and 7” touchscreen which looks gorgeous. It provides with a front facing camera of 1.3 megapixel resolution and comes with wider bezel to make the holding of the device easier without blocking the screen. It has been made slightly wider and longer albeit thinner than its earlier version and comes with physical button for power, and volume rockers. Though it is available with storage space of 16GB and 32GB the option for expandable memory is not present and nor do the power adopter and one has charge through the USB port unless one buys an adopter. In a nutshell, it is a value for money device with stronger battery life and enhanced Wi-Fi features but the less application available and slow-loading stores could be a hindrance.
The Google Nexus 7 on the other hand provides almost all the features similar to the Kindlefire but is slightly bulkier. It seems ASUS built the device for Google just to stomp out the Amazon superpower with a similar price rating in spite of providing more application set. This, device comes with amazing UI powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Beans and has a strong NFC support and quality hardware. But it has a lesser rated front facing camera of 1.2 megapixels. The fact that it loses out again is too weak IPS support and limited storage and sometimes it makes the reading experience a tad slower. It comes with a thinner bezel and provides three buttons similar to the Amazon’s device and also comes with 3.5mm jack and microphone support. Though the model is made up of plastic and glass it still gives the feeling of a premium device and doesn’t look cheap at all.
