As a student it depends on what you like, You can choose to blog on the course you are studying at college or at university. You can help your colleagues by creating about a subject for example Physics, Chemistry e.t.c and explain what the lecturer as taught you in which some of the other students did not understand.
Why Wasting Your Time In Social Networking Instead Of Spending Your Time Blogging?
Instead of wasting your time in social networking like Facebook, Twitter e.t.c although i did not say you should not do that but at least give it minimum although when you blog that is where you are going to share you post.

When you blog about a specific topic or post, It helps you to improve your skills, knowledge and way of writing. I was very poor then when it comes to writing of post in blog, but later i keep on writing good articles since you are a student it should help you improve with skills.

Yes you can make money with blogging. There are different way for you to make money as a blogger. Write a good article on your blog, Register with Google adsense and write a Paid post for blogger since you are a students.
