Samsung-Galaxy-tab2-Vs-iPad-3

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 was officially released at the Mobile World Congress and it's strikingly similar to the previous release also known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It comes in a very minimalist style that gets straight to the point, stylish with rounded corners and a smooth back. Even though most users out there felt like the specs were anticlimactic making the new tablet competition not so interesting with the features, the existing ones are still able to give just about any other tablet out there a run for it's money.

On the other hand, you'll notice that Apple has developed some amazing new features packed into their iPad release. For instance, the Retina display, 4G LTE as well as a super fast processor are some of the winning features of this new device.

Even though Samsung device users would prefer a better device along with some new features instead of just packing in an updated OS at the same device, this Android tablet also comes equipped along with some neat little features as well as a more than decent build.

So which device is the better one?

Here are both of their main features compared side by side just so you can make up your mind and see which one would fit you better.

 Display:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 comes equipped with a 10.1 inch touch screen packing 1280 x 800p resolution. On the other hand, the iPad's display comes with the revolutionary Retina display that pretty much blows the Samsung out of the water along with a 2048 x 1535 resolution, 44 percent better color saturation and about 3 million pixels within a 9.7 inch space. You'll notice that the amount of pixels in the iPad is four times the amount found in the Tab 2. Also most of the display reviews out there point out that you should definitely hold the Tab 4 inches away from your eyes for the best possible visibility.

Sizes:

The exact dimensions for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 are 256.6 x 175.3 x 9.7 mm and it weights 588 grams, while on the other hand the iPad weights 652 grams and the dimensions are 241.2 x 185.7 x 9.4 mm. Keep in mind that the Wi-Fi + 3G model normally would weight a slight bit more.

 Storage Memory:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has 1GB of RAM memory as well as a maximum of 64GB storage capacity. You can also insert a microSD of up to 32GB for additional storage. The iPad has 1GB of ram available and there are three main models to choose from, the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has the advantage here since the iPad lacks external card slots.

 OS:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 comes with Android OS 4 also known as “Ice Cream Sandwich” and there's a layer of TouchWiz UX UI to it. The iPad is running on an updated version of iOS 5 known as iOS 5.1.

Processor/Speed:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 comes equipped with a Dual Core 1Ghz Cortex A9 processor. It also supports the ULP GeForce GPU and due to the fact that there are no scientific reports made available for this particular processor right now, we'll have to hope that a better one comes out with the new model. The iPad has its own dual-core Apple A5X chip that comes with quad core graphics for the ultimate mobile gaming experience. - Networks:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab2 has Wi-Fi, Wi-fi Direct, dual band, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0 as well as USB 2.0 connectivity. On the other hand the iPad comes equipped with Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 technology, 4G LTE for all the AT&T as well as Verizon models.

 Camera Support:

The Samsung Glaxy Tab 2 has a 3.15 MP camera and it's also packed along with autofocus features to be used with it's 1080p video playback capability. There's also a secondary VGA camera to it. However, Apply hands down wins when it comes to this because of it's 5 MP rear facing camera that supports 1080p video recording. You'll find that the downside to this is that the secondary VGA camera is pretty much the same found on the previous iPad release. The rear facing iSight camera is set at a ƒ/2.4 aperture as well as a five element lens providing you with flexible options when it comes to taking pictures ad makes up for great light efficiency and an overall sharp image.

 Battery Life:

When it comes to how long the battery life on these two will last the first thing you should know is about the batteries they're both using. For instance, the Samsung uses the same Li-Po 7000 mAh battery that came with the previous version of the tablet whilst the iPad has a 42.5 wh Li-polymer battery for up to 10 hours of constant usage.

 Extra Features:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will include featured you'd normally expect out of a PC such as an compass, SMS, MMS, Email, IM, HTML, Adobe Flash, SNS integration, support for various movie formats such as MP4 and DivX, TV-out, mp3 player, organizer, video and image editor, document viewer, Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, Youtube, Google Talk, Voice memo, Skype... On the other hand with the Apple iPad you’ll also get access to the biggest app store on the internet that will allow for you to choose between hundreds of thousands of apps including already installed voice dictation, iCloud to store your music, photos, apps, mail, contacts, documents, wireless transfers to app devices, VoiceOver screen reader, full zoom magnification, large fonts, etc.
