1. The first step is to shut down the server and then unplug it. Once you have unplugged the hp server, disconnect it from the network. Now keep the server on a flat surface that has enough space to keep all its components when you remove them.
2. The next step is to open up the front panel of the HP server. You can unlock the main system drive of the new hp server by using a penny or some small coins. Pull it out of the server case using these materials. Now you will need to remove all the other drivers of the server as well, right from the bottom to the top. Place them well in one side so that it is easy for you at the time of reinstalling them.
3. The top plate of the server can be removed by sliding it forward. Hold the case tight with one hand and take out the plate from the other till it comes out completely followed by sliding the plate off the case.
4. Look for the 2 fan cables plugged in the component board which the drivers usually connect to. These 2 cables are mostly in the top of the server. Now you will need to unplug both these cables and the LED power cable as well. While unplugging do take note of the cable ports where each of these cable plugs were attached so that there are not any errors at the time of reinstallation.
5. Turn the plastic latches in order to remove the board. Reach the server case and lift out the case
6. Now take out all the screws which are on the right side of the grate and pull the grate forward. You will also need to unplug the LEP cables which are there in the grate keeping the grate apart.
7. The silver screws that holding the servers motherboard need to be removed as well. Remove it by sliding the motherboard forward.
8. Place the motherboard back into its case with the screws removed initially. The LED cable also has to be put back into the front grate and reinstall the grate.
9. Re-assemble all the server components back to its original position. Insert the drivers from top to bottom. Ensure that the master system drive is locked well into its place.
10. The server has to be plugged back and reconnected to the network. Turn on the server again. Once you log in the connected computer you can see the report on the upgraded memory available.
