Guest Post:PlayStation 4 What to Expect

Gamers all around the world have a good reason to be excited because as of recently, during the 3rd week of February, Sony has just announced their brand new gadget to take your gaming experience to the next level! They have officially introduced to us Sony PlayStation 4! This a ground breaking news because Sony has not released an updated version of their PlayStation 3 since about six years ago. Their competitors, such as Microsoft and Nintendo have somehow taken over their place in the market by continuously launching new gaming consoles. However, looks like Sony is not backing down this time because they too are going to take a bold move and take control of the market with their new PlayStation 4.

 

The question for gamers now is what is there to expect from this so called groundbreaking gaming console or gadget? The first and most obvious thing that we can look for will be speed. The game console will without a doubt run faster. Considering the gap between this upcoming PlayStation 4 with the previous generation of PlayStation, which was launched in about six years ago, the chips and hardware used will definitely allow faster operations. The machine will not experience lagging as much as the 3rd generation experienced, and will also provide faster loading and booting time. Basically, the entire running process of the gaming console will be faster.

Another feature that cannot be forgotten in this day and age is the capability to stream games. This is so unbelievably important for gamers as more and more people search, review, purchase and play games online. Even though we have televisions, complete sets of gaming consoles and even the game in compact discs or memory cards, we will still demand the availability of the game on the internet. So, with that said, PlayStation 4 should be able to stream games online. This is not yet confirmed by Sony, but looking at how the trends in streaming not only games, but also films, music and other stuffs, we can expect Sony to go down the same path. There is also a great possibility of having a PlayStation 4 that can stream games because Sony has made partnerships with several streaming platforms, such as Netflix.

Storage is also an easy one to expect. The most basic features that are usually expanded through newer generations of gadgets will be speed, storage and design. The design cannot be expected at the moment because Sony has not released its official design for the PlayStation 4. With the case of storage and speed though, there is a very big change that they will be increased to provide a better performance for gamers. Bigger storage means gamers can save up more games, play more games, as well as faster operation as well. How is storage connected to the speed at how the console is performing? The bigger the storage, the faster the gadget will work, simply because more free space will make the gadget to not experience much lagging.

One significant trend that we constantly get from Sony is also the capability for Sony’s game consoles to play the games from the previous generation of the game consoles. This refers to how back in the day, probably around a decade ago, that the PlayStation 2 can actually play the games on PlayStation 1. The same thing happened with PlayStation 3 that can play the games on PlayStation 2. So, looking at this trend, we can say that the PlayStation 4 can also play the games on PlayStation 3. A great thing about this is that we can still access and play the games that we love, even though these games are already considered as old fashioned and lame. This also means that newer generations of game consoles give higher accessibility for gamers because it does not limit the options of games to play in only the games specially designed for the latest generation of game consoles, but also with the previous ones.

Sony is now under a big pressure to be able to compete with the rest of its competitors because both Nintendo and Microsoft have been far ahead of them. The user interface that is provided by Microsoft and Nintendo proves that the technologies applied in the game consoles are much more advanced and innovative. By releasing a new generation of PlayStation at such a late age, Sony needs to realize that they need to bring something extra big to the table because PC games are already way far back in the past. They need to prove that their gaming consoles are still the best one in the market and that they are the leading consoles for our future.

All in all, we can definitely expect great things to come from Sony as they launched PlayStation 4. Gamers should definitely brace themselves to start queuing for their new gaming consoles. Even though we cannot be sure whether this latest generation of PlayStation can beat the other gaming consoles, but we can bet that Sony will not disappoint us. So far, we have been satisfied with their previous generations of PlayStation. Surely Sony will bring something that is worth the wait on the table for gamers.
